Wuthering Waves 2.7 banner guide comes with the “Dawn Breaks on Dark Tides” update rolling out on October 9, 2025 (UTC+8). This version introduces new Resonators, Galbrena and Qiuyuan, as well as returning characters. Players can also expect new weapon banners and Echoes to enhance their combat strategies.

Wuthering Waves 2.7 Release Overview

Version 2.7 continues the game’s dynamic rhythm of introducing new Resonators through limited banners, giving players the opportunity to expand their roster with powerful additions. The update will be rolled out in two stages:

• Phase 1: October 9 – October 30, 2025
• Phase 2: October 30 – November 19, 2025

Each phase will highlight a different pair of featured Resonators and their signature weapons.

Wuthering Waves 2.7 Banner

Phase 1 – Galbrena and Lupa

The first half of the update highlights Galbrena, a completely new Resonator, along with a rerun of Lupa. Their event encounters will include exclusive price upgrades for their signature characters and weapons.

If you don’t have a strong Fusion DPS, Galbrena is an attractive target. Forgotten replays are useful if you’re building a mono-Fusion lineup.

Phase 2 – Qiuyuan and Zani

The second phase introduces another highly anticipated Resonator, Qiuyuan, with the returning Zani. This banner will focus on Qiuyuan’s versatile abilities and its new signature weapons.

Qiuyuan brings flexibility as a support and sub-DPS, so if your team doesn’t have those roles, he’s a strong player in Phase 2.

• Emerald Sentence (5★, new weapon)

Similar to Phase 1, the banner will include several 4★ Resonators and weapons that synergize well with Qiuyuan’s supportive and offensive skills.

Another tip for doing this is not to rush into converting Astrite — wait until the banner you want is confirmed, as the type of Tide required depends on the character/weapon. Additionally, free-play/moderate players should try to guarantee at least Galbrena + her weapon in Phase 1, and if resources permit, Qiuyuan in Phase 2.

New Resonators in Wuthering Waves 2.7

Galbrena – Flame of Purity

Type: 5★ Merger | Weapon: Gun | Role: Main DPS

Galbrena is a gun-wielding Resonator who excels at providing powerful Echo Skills and Heavy Attack damage. He can transition between his normal Threshold State and the more powerful Demonic Hypostasis Form, strengthening all of his abilities while the transformation is active.

To trigger her transformation, Galbrena must collect 100 Sinflame points, which are earned by attacking enemies during Threshold State. Additionally, he collects Afterflame, a resource obtained through the Echo Skill that increases his overall damage when the Demon Hypostasis is activated.

With its fiery visual design and high damage potential, Galbrena stands out as a tough Fusion Resonator who thrives in aggressive team compositions.

Qiuyuan – Wandering Swordsman

Type: 5★ Aero | Weapon: Sword | Role: Sub-DPS / Support

Qiuyuan combines elegant swordplay with versatile team utility. Through his unique mechanic, Swordster Soliloquy, Qiuyuan collects points by performing Basic Attacks and Evasion Counters. After reaching 200, 400, or 600 points, he unlocks various techniques:

• Thus Spoke the Blade: Ink Wash – Increases Energy Regeneration.
• Bamboo Shade – Provide Echo Skill DMG Bonus for the whole team.
• Thought Ink Splash – Increases overall damage output.

His Resonance Release increases Critical Damage for all allies, while his Outro Skill grants a powerful 50% Echo Skill DMG Amplification to the next active Resonator. These supportive traits make Qiuyuan an excellent choice for hybrid or burst-damage teams.

Lux & Umbra

Type: 5★ | Statistics: Criticism. DMG 48.6% | Attack: 588

Effect – To Fire Him Back (R1):

Increases ATK by 12%. After dealing Echo Skill DMG, grants 24% Heavy Attack DMG Amplification for 6 seconds. Dealing Heavy Attack DMG also grants 24% Echo Skill DMG Amplification for 6 seconds. While both effects are active, attacks ignore 8% of the target’s DEF.

This weapon pairs perfectly with Galbrena, enhancing the dual focus damage style between Echo Skill and Heavy Attack.

Emerald Sentence

Type: 5★ | Statistics: Criticism. Value 24.3% | Attack: 588

Effect – When the Heart is Calm (R1):

Increases ATK by 12%. Using the Echo Skill will grant Bamboo Cleaver, increasing Heavy Attack DMG by 30% for 30 seconds, stacked up to two times. When the maximum stack is reached, Echo Skill resets its duration. The Intro Skill also grants 20% Echo Skill DMG Bonus to all teammates for 30 seconds.

This weapon is very suitable for Qiuyuan, strengthening its supportive and damage potential.

New Echo Set: Flamewing Shadow

3 Part Effect:

• Deals Echo Skill DMG increasing Heavy Attack Crit. Value of 20% for 6 seconds.
• Deals Heavy Attack DMG increasing Echo Skill Crit. Value of 20% for 6 seconds.
• While both effects are active, gain 16% Fusion DMG Bonus.

This Echo set is clearly designed for characters like Galbrena who like to alternate between Echo Skills and Heavy Attacks.
